My birthday

It’s official!  I have officially turned yet another year older, I have completed yet another rotation around the sun and I have officially realized that I’m still not fully an adult. But regardless, it was wonderful.

My birthday honestly felt like it was celebrated by three separate weekends and I know it sounds like I’m bragging to say that but in retrospect, it was celebrated in three separate weekends with different people.  The first was a couple of my friends from LA made their way up to Seattle to visit me for the weekend.  It didn’t feel like a birthday celebration but it turns out they choose that weekend cause they couldn’t come the weekend after.  It was amazing to spend that time with people that I adore and show them a city that I adore. I mean, let’s be honest, I tried hard to convince them how great the city was and hopefully convince them to eventually move here.

Then the weekend after, I spent that Friday in LA where I got the chance to actually catch up with another set of people that I adore.  I was there for 24 hours for work so I had the day to catch up with people and work for a bit.  I spent the first part of the day working from a coffee shop with them and then grabbing lunch before heading out for event fun. Following that night, I made my way home and then had some time to chill before I went to my surprise birthday party.

I actually knew that this was happening, but I didn’t know to what extent it was happening.  Regardless, it was the most wonderful thing I could have ever experienced in my life.  I was surrounded by a bunch of my super close friends on a rooftop in Seattle eating and being merry.  My friends went all out and had the party themed around traveling along with the cake with a piece of luggage made out of a rice krispie and fondant. The party was…. the most amazing thing in the entire world. I don’t think that I’ve ever felt so loved in my life. I know that when I had my going away from Seattle, I had a bunch of people show up for that but when it comes to a birthday and a surprise birthday at that, it was so wonderful to see all these people that I love in one place who wanted to wish me a happy birthday. Honestly, I just don’t know if I will ever have enough words to really describe just how wonderful that party was. And to describe just how much I love my friends.

Then the weekend after, my mom came to town.  Mainly to celebrate Mother’s Day but also to be with me for my birthday.  A full three weekends of happy celebrations and I think that my heart is too full right now.
