Bintan, Indonesia

When we were in Singapore, we looked up various adventures that we could do outside of Singapore.  So we decided that we were going to go to Bintan to go stay at a resort and enjoy the beach life for a couple of days.  We went to the ferry terminal, paid for our ticket to Indonesia and got ready to relax on the beach for a few days.  One thing to keep in mind about Indonesia is that you do need a visa to get in but luckily you can buy your visa at the ferry terminal.  From what I remember it was a super easy process and was about $10USD for the visa and valid for a month.  They stick the actual visa into your passport as a sticker so you don’t have to worry about losing it.

We arrived in Indonesia and got a taxi to our resort.  That began our four day vacation of laying by the beaches and just hanging out.

It’s actually really strange to reflect on this trip and look at how I travel now.  During this entire trip, I was so relaxed because I was just exploring one specific place and I felt like I had all the time in the world.  Now I plan my trips so that I am constantly running from place to place without stopping for a moment to relax.

We spent our entire time in Indonesia at our beach resort hanging out on the beach and reading/relaxing.  It was a great experience because I got to hang out with my friends and spend some good quality time with them.  Along with that we essentially had a private beach to ourselves and were able to relax and catch up on all of our books while looking out into the beautiful water.

We never actually left this resort because all our meals were paid for at the resort and we had everything we needed there. It was the most relaxing experience I have ever had in my entire life.

After that, we took the ferry back to Singapore and that’s when I left my friends to go back to Taiwan for a few days before heading home and they finished off their trip in Singapore.
