We woke up the next morning and went downstairs for the breakfast. It’s always really entertaining to see what food is offered wherever you go. This was a breakfast buffet that included eggs, pancakes, bacon, and then fried noodles, stir-fried vegetables, etc. It was quite the eclectic group of foods. We sat down for our breakfast and then headed upstairs to get ready for the wedding.
After getting ready, we stood in the lobby to wait for the transportation to the engagement party. Since our friend lives in Seattle and his soon-to-be wife was living in Taipei at the time, the typical Taiwanese wedding traditions had to be done in a very short period of time. So to start off our day, we started off with group photos in the lobby.
After photos, we went off to the engagement party. We loaded into the cars and headed out to the house for the various ceremonies.
I’ve never been to a formal Taiwanese wedding or engagement party so to be honest I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on, especially because half of the ceremony was in Taiwanese which I do not understand. The first portion of the day was full of food, ceremonies, photos and various activities that required the groom to prove himself worthy of marrying the bride.
After eating the amazing plates of food, desserts, and drinks we prepared for the wedding.
